The Beginning
In 2007 Greg Herbert and Jeff Wilkowicz two men from different professional back grounds, (Wilkowicz a lawyer, Herbert a commercial graphic artist) but both lovers of the great Japanese artform known as Anime disgruntled by the perverse direction the anime and manga community was taking- the growth of Hentai, the friendliness towards the homosexual genres of Yaoi and Yuri, the pedophilic lolicon shotacon and toddlercon the expansion of the torrent sites and illegal downloading of anime and manga- said enough was enough decided to take action and with other individuals create a coalition promoting responsible fandom in the community, and becoming the voice of the silent majority of anime fans. thus the True Anime Fans Group, predecessor to today's CRAF was born.
WHO EXACTLY ARE WE?
WE are the Coalition for Responsible Anime Fandom (CRAF) a 100% not for profit consortium of people dedicated to preserving the image of anime and manga for all people. we are a group of concerned average citizens who are sick and tired of the recent perversion in the anime and manga world. CRAF is comprised of a team of educators attorneys sociologists, statisticians, mathematicians, artists, child advocates , Youtubers, and everyday citizens who want Anime to be the best it can be. No Hentai, no Yaoi/yuri,no eechi, no perversion, limited fanservice and a much reduced emphasis on physical beauty. Anime should be about quality storylines strong plots charachter development and lots of action all without the need to be fanboy and fangirl fodder. At CRAF,we deter and detest the immoral means of obtaining anime (e.g. illegal downloading ), dub-hating, and we also are against the subcultures like hentai and eechi and yaoi and yuri that have dilluted and peverted the true nature of anime.
we represent the true anime fans those who care about srpeading the word about what is good about the medium and not the abominations.
We simply need to get back to mainstream genres and sophisticated storytelling
the repulsive things like moe, fanservice eechi, hentai , yaoi yuri, hentai and other fanboy/fangirl fodder need to be done awaywith forthwith!
