These are the people that are the heart and soul of CRAF's efforts towards responsible fandom.

 

 

 

GREGORY HERBERT M.F.A Chairman and General President:

Born in England he moved to America in at the age of seven, first settling in Suburban New Jersey then moving to Manhattan. from childhood  He became passionate  about art and animation the former became his career while the latter became his hobby.

his first exposure to anime came watching episodes of Starblazers on TV while he was living in New Jersey, he also  loved the series  Voltron Robotech/Macross and Macron I and the movie Akira He also became a connosieur of the Classic American Cartoons of of legends like  Chuck Jones,Tex Avery and Bob Clampett, as well as up and comers like John Krisfaluci and  Matt Groening.  He was enrolled at the LaGuardia High School of Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan.  His passion for art showed as he became his high school's resident artist regarding schoolwide projects. this ultimately led to a scholarship to New York University, upon his graduation from LaGuardia, where he majored in Graphic Arts and minored in Economics. Graduating with a Batchelor's in Fine Arts  in 1998 he moved to California where he attended CalArts and in 2001 graduated in the top 10% earning his Master's

 

 While at CA, He with a partner, Craig Barker, a fellow CalArts student, founded a small commercial graphic design company.

Intelligent Art Solutions, in 2000 in 2004 he sold his interest in the business and founded his own firm HerbertArts Marketing in Los Angeles. All the while he continued to stay a fan of both Western and Eastern Animation and became a regular attendee of  comic book and Anime Coventions  upon visiting the 2007 AnimeExpo he met an attorney named Jeffrey Wilkowicz. upon talking  they both realised they shared the same concerns for the state of Anime in the 2000s to this they and a group of other fans created the TrueAnimeFans group, predecessor to CRAF.

  He married the former Katherine Jefferies, native of San Diego, in 2002 

his first son Gregory T Herbert was born Feburary 6 2004 his first Daughter Emma born March 19 2005 and twins Joseph and Kayla born August 30 2007. 

 

EILEEN HANSEN

 A Native of Sudbury Minnesota  Eileen has a Master's Degree in Psycology from Marquette University. Relocating to San Diego in 1997  she began work as a Children's Psychologist  there. An Anime Fan since the late 80s she became interested in the effects of animation on children and young adults.. moving to the Greater Los Angeles Area in 2004 where she began her practice there.. in 2008 She joined the TrueAnime Fans Group (which Became CRAF in 2008) She currently Lives in the San Frenando Valley area with her husband of 11 years, Max Hansen and  her son David Maxwell.

JEFFREY DEAN WILKOWICZ,ESQ. Co-Chairman/Lead Counsel

 a native Angeleno and graduate of CSULA  (Beta GammaSigma) is an attoney that represents small businesses in the suburban Los Angeles area He cofounded CRAF with Greg Herbert and others as TrueAnimeFans in 2007 he handles much of CRAF's Legal issues as Chief Counsel and  Co-Chairnan. An Anime Fan since the early 90s his favorite titles include the Ghost in the Shell franchise, and One Piece, as well as anything by Miyazaki/Ghibli and Satoshi Kon..

asked why a man in such a serious line of work is also a fan of something usually associated with children.  He responds "Animation is for everyone not just Kids. Remember, the early Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies appealed to Adults as well as kids.."
